Bill Gurnea

Landscape Architect  -  "Horticulture Guru"

As a Landscape Architect, Mr. Gurnea's multi-disciplinary background in Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Graphic Design, and Construction Management are utilized in team approach to problem solving. His Project experience is also diverse and includes the Landscape Architectural Design of Private Projects, inclusive of: Residential, Urban Development, Commercial Office and Retail, Institutional (Hospitals and Churches), and Industrial. Public Agency or Quasi-Agency work has included: Downtown Redevelopment and Urban Housing, Downtown Master Plans and Design Guidelines, Interactive Play Water Amenities, Parks (Neighborhood, Community, Regional, Wildlife Rescue Center, Botanical Garden, and Interactive Mountain Habitat), Golf Courses, Wellness Center (Preventative medicine, Career Development, Indoor Sports, Competition Aquatic Center and Soccer), University, High School, Middle School, and Elementary Schools. In addition, we mention the following Urban/ Commercial Projects: Sweet Brier Plaza, Lindsay, CA - Urban Development including Town Homes, Civic Plaza/ Fountain with Stage, Mercado with Fountain, Courtyard Arbors, Restrooms, and Interactive Play Water Feature; The Academy North Hollywood, CA - a multi faceted and multi-story housing, retail, commercial, restaurant, and the home of the Motion Picture Academy; Laguna Village Entry, Laguna Beach, CA; and Pershing Square, Los Angeles, CA.

Bill's experiences span the last thirty-two years, as a part of teams encompassing all the major design disciplines and many engineering practices. Thus he has been and will continue tho be a great asset to our creative project team.

As a Recreational Planner, Mr. Gurnea was Lead Designer in the Parks and Recreation Planning and Landscape Architectural Design of a variety of Public Agency and Private Client Projects, including: Coto De Caza, near Mission Viejo, California, a 5,000 Acre Residential Resort Community with a 36 Hole World Class Golf Course and Tennis College, a Hunt Lodge, an Equestrian Center, and extensive Parks and Open Space Trail System; Tustin Ranch, a 1,500 Acre Golf Course and Recreational Development located in the hills of Tustin and Orange, California; Chino Specific Plan for the City of Chino, California. recognized by the American Planning Association in the State of California as the best Specific Plan in 1986; Rio Bravo Public Golf Course and Residential Community, a 1,000 Acre Residential Community proposed to be located in the hills of Bakersfield, California; as well as the design of Recreation/ Open Space, and Residential Communities in cities throughout California and Nevada. Also, Mr. Gurnea's background in Graphic Design and Illustration has been utilized in the creation of Signage Programs and Promotional Graphics for Clients in Arizona, California, Nevada, Ohio, Oregon, and Texas.
